Our team We recognise that it is our general practice partners who have the clinical and customer service expertise. Our small but hugely experienced Southern Cross Primary Care (SCPC) team’s role is to leverage that expertise for the benefit of the SCPC network.
Victor Klap 
Chief Executive Officer
Victor has over 20 years experience in the New Zealand health sector and joined Southern Cross in early 2009 to investigate a range of primary care initiatives. His former roles have included:
- Chief Executive of the Independent Practitioners’ Association of New Zealand
- Chief Executive of the Southern Regional Health Authority and
- Director of NZ Blood Service, Pharmac and Ambulance NZ.

Lee Hohaia
Business Manager
Lee’s original health background is as a clinical pharmacist, with academic, hospital and retail experience. She has over 25 years experience in the Australian and New Zealand health sector. Her past roles include:
- Pharmacist Facilitator/General Manager, PrimeHealth
- General Manager Networks, First Health
- Strategic Product Manager, VHI, Ireland
- Head of Clinical Operations, Southern Cross Health Society.

Paul Denham
Business Engagement Manager
Paul is a registered Comprehensive Nurse with experience in Public and Occupational Health who has worked his entire working life in public and private health companies. Relevant highlights include:
- Relationship Manager for Midland Regional Health Authority for GPs, Rest Homes and Private Hospitals
- GP Liaison Manager at South Auckland Health working with 250 South Auckland GPs to establish GP after hours at Botany Rd and Browns Rd Superclinics
- Business Development Manager establishing GP networks in Tauranga, New Plymouth and Waikato.
